Context
Sanofi ran part of its infrastructure on legacy VMware environments, with repetitive operations handled by Ansible playbooks and a team spread across France, India and the US.
What I did
I inherited and optimised more than ten Ansible playbooks automating repetitive tasks on the VMware infrastructure. I then audited the existing automation, identified the gaps and delivered a remediation plan.
From requirements gathered in technical workshops, I implemented eight new automation workflows. Along the way I mentored a junior engineer on Ansible, Linux, Git and cloud.
Result
The operations team adopted the remediation plan, and the junior engineer’s onboarding went faster.
